King Affirms to Rubio the Need to Reach a Comprehensive De-escalation Agreement Ensuring the Security of Arab States

Al-Taj News – His Majesty King Abdullah II discussed efforts to reduce escalation in the region during a phone call on Friday with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

During the call, His Majesty stressed the need to reach a comprehensive de-escalation agreement that guarantees the security and sovereignty of Arab states, emphasizing the pivotal role of the United States in supporting efforts to achieve regional stability.

His Majesty the King also referred to the outcomes of the latest round of the “Aqaba Meetings” initiative, held recently in France to mobilize international support for the Lebanese Army and enable it to carry out its responsibilities in maintaining Lebanon’s security and stability.

His Majesty renewed his warning about the repercussions of the Israeli escalation in southern Syria, stressing that Jordan stands by Syria in its efforts to enhance its security and stability and safeguard its territorial sovereignty.

The call also addressed ways to build on the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States across various fields.
